1. Echo Park Rising

See local bands at various Echo Park locations -- The Echo, The Echoplex, Stories Bookstore, and many more.

It's 100% free and runs all weekend, many local restaurants/shops run specials and/or have events as well.

2. KCRW Summer Nights Series

KCRW's famous series takes place in various parts of town all summer long.

This Saturday, check it out as it takes over CAAM (Californis African-American Museum) where along with the DJs, music, and food trucks, is the excellent "No Justice, No Peace: LA 1992" exhibition.

Event is FREE. Parking in Exposition Park is $15

 

3. Muse 'til Midnight @ LACMA

This event celebrates art in a fun, after-hours event at LACMA. Admission includes 5 exhibitions, parking, and a cocktail courtesy of Showtime, who is sponsoring.

All proceeds go back to LACMA.

 

4. Family Day: Art for Good @ Hammer Museum

In Westwood, the Hammer Museum has a fun day of FREE activities for the kids.

Music, art, improv, performances and more will liven up the festival and offer a myriad of opportunities to get the kids involved and creating.

 

5. 4th Annual Burbank Comedy Festival

This is the 2nd weekend of the recently formed comedy fest that's already booking sets by some of the pros.

Tickets are mostly under $20, and you can choose from a wide variety of shows, from improv to standup -- with a mixture of comedy veterans and up and comers.
