Top 3 things to do this July

1. FIREWORKS!!

The landscape of L.A. lends itself to some of the best firework options in the country. Downtown, the beach, and mountain areas all have various displays.

Here are a couple of the biggest shows for this Fourth of July, all featuring different locales:

--- Pasadena @ The Rose Bowl - this is the biggest show in LA County. Will definitely be crowded, but worth it, nearly a 30 minute show.

--- Hollywood @ The Hollywood Bowl - they celebrate over a few consecutive days, not the biggest firework display, but the music, food, and drinks make up for it.

--- Pacific Palisades @ Fourth of July Parade - I'm throwing this on the list because not only are there numerous stellar firework vantage points in the Palisades' hills, but they have one of the biggest Fourth of July parades in the state.

2. Movies on the (Long) Beach -- all July/August

Many forget that allllllllll the way down in LA County lies a southern gem -- the city of Long Beach.

And what better way to use all of their beach access than to throw up FREE movies. Bring your own chairs, picnic, blankets, etc.

Even parking is free (in most areas) after 6pm.

They have a pretty varied schedule from Black Panther to The Goonies.

3. Outfest 2018 -- July 12-22

The country's biggest LGBT festival is back, and bigger than ever this year.

Taking place in various locations around the Hollywood/Downtown area, Outfest has curated a great selection of cinematic offerings with a LGBT slant.

Premieres of the documentaries Studio 54 and When the Beat Drops will debut alongside narrative films such as, We the Animals and Reinventing Marvin.

Outfest is always a great launching pad for queer voices in film. So come discover the next big thing...
